Richard Cohen is a retired lawyer and the former president of the Southern Poverty Law Center. He has been involved in a wide variety of civil rights litigation, including cases against neo-Nazi organizations for the violence of their members, and has testified many times before Congress about the threat of radical-right terrorism. He served as the executive producer for the Center’s documentary films. Four went on to earn Academy Award nominations, two of which won. A Virginia native, Richard received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his law degree from the University of Virginia. He currently lives in Pensacola, Florida.
