Your history matters! Patrons are invited to bring their family history documents to scan and save in digital format using the library’s new high-resolution document and film scanner. We will also have equipment available to photograph and preserve images of items like family Bibles or small heirloom objects. Library staff will walk participants through the process of scanning and/or photographing their materials.
Appointments are required, and will be scheduled every 30 minutes. Please call the library to reserve your appointment. Due to the limited time available for each appointment please plan to bring no more than 20 items to digitize.
Volunteers from the Genealogical Society of Okaloosa County (GSOC) will offer several family history mini-workshops you can attend while you wait for your appointment:
10:00 am: Introduction to Family History Online
11:30 am: Protecting Your Photos and Documents
1:00 pm: Introduction to Family History Online
2:30 pm: Protecting Your Photos and Documents
These mini-workshops require no registration, and are free and open to the public. You do not have to have a digitization appointment to attend the mini-workshops.
